New York Fashion Crowd weighs about early Dior Raf Simons

Raf Simons debut as creative director of Christian Dior, the spearhead of the label in fall 2012 haute couture collection was one of the fashion events of the year most of the time expected. Sharon Stone, Jennifer Lawrence and Marion Cotillard was in the front row. So does almost every designer on the planet that matters, Alber Elbaz and Olivier Theyskens, L'Wren Scott, Riccardo Tisci, Diane von Furstenberg, Azzedine Alaia and Marc Jacobs, among others.

The show was held in a private house in the Avenue d'Jena in the 11th arrondissement of Paris, Tony Five lounges were each in a different type of flowers like orchids, white roses, delphinium blue, yellow, goldenrod and pink roses, garden, flowers and covered mixed (Christian Dior himself was a passionate floral notes). More than a million flowers were used to decorate the room, something that impressed one of the sharpest critics of everything and said Vogue editor Anna Wintour, who was one of his front row perch: "Is not it amazing,"

Since Raf Simons was announced to replace John Galliano at Christian Dior in April, after a search that lasted more than a year, many wondered how his minimalist aesthetic would translate at Dior. His first look included ranges from dark black trouser suits to cashmere coat dresses dresses full skirt cut on the ankle, to live in a nod to Christian Dior's "New Look".

Most of the mass of the New York Fashion had nothing to say brilliant things. Cathy Horyn, fashion critic for The New York Times and longtime Raf Simons enthusiastically blogged, "In almost all of the required 54 in almost every detail, Mr. Simons made a connection to the first decade of the house when Dior himself was at the working. He put those ideas, including an architectural purity of design, a preference for the pockets, a sense of femininity, but also the system through their own filter. "

Designer and CFDA president Diane von Furstenberg took to Twitter to say, "Raf Simons a beautiful Dior show! Very Dior has! Another Belgian talent!"

Designer L'Wren Scott said: "... I found the Dior show was just very new and exciting next level, like all things Raf" designer Peter Som collection called "beautiful, modern and luxurious."

Marie Claire fashion director Nina Garcia said that the collection of "couture with a modern twist." Vogue creative director Grace Coddington told the news agency AFP that she "thought it was really nice. And my expectations are always high."

Most of the crowd of fashion designed to look ahead into the new era of Christian Dior, but W magazine fashion and style director Edward Enninful was one of the few reflect on the past by Christian Dior.

"I think of John Galliano today," he tweeted after the show. "Talk to the bar high."
